About Us

The Mathair Gael Division 10 in Hamilton, New Jersey was started in April 2007. Mathair Gael means “Irish Mothers” and we are dedicated to preserving the traditions tended so carefully by previous generations.

As part of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, we foster the ideals and perpetuate the history and traditions of the Irish people, promote Irish culture and donate funds raised to Catholic charities. Our ladies are devoted to their Roman Catholic Faith and their Irish-American heritage. The Preamble of our Constitution states that the intent and purpose of the Ladies is to promote Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity among its members; assisting the people of Ireland to establish an Irish Republic which shall include the 32 counties of Ireland, aiding the aged, sick, blind and infirm members and for the legitimate expense of the Ladies, including Missions work and Catholic Action.

Our charity is the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey. More information can be found on this wonderful charity at http://www.chsofnj.org/.
